Gardens
We have 3 gardens and starting a new one for asparagus.
We are completely organic.  We make our own compost
and utilize it and green manure, for fertilizer.
Our soil was totally depleted of organic material
when we started, but is catching up fast. Organic
is a slower process than commercial fertilizers,
but it pays to be patient. Our food is healthier and
our soil is getting back to the way God created it.

Tomatoes
We've  developed a new system  for our tomatoes. It's a combination of several
organic ingredients, compost, a 25" x 12" 4-wheeler tire (I remove one sidewall)
, shredded paper for mulching the tires and a wire hoop made from 6 x 6 x 10
concrete wire.  This minimizes weeds and watering.
(I use a weed eater around tires to control weeds)

The tomatoes in these pictures are 6ft tall and loaded.  The temperature has been over 100 degrees
for the 3 weeks prior.

This compost pile is about ready to use.  It's about
6 ft high now.  It started as 5 large round  bales of
hay, green grass clippings, chicken and cow
manure.
